Lower White River Museum State Park Opens Civil War Exhibit Print E-mail

The Lower White River Museum State Park Civil War exhibit is now open. The exhibit opening was held August 27 and featured guest speakers Dewitt Yingling and Curtis and Bill Arnold. This exhibit focuses on the “Des Arc Rangers: Co. B 1stMounted Rifles” This unit was formed...

Des Arc in April 1861 and joined with the 1stMounted Rifles in Little Rock in June 1861 under the command of Col. Thomas J Churchill. The group fought in battles at Wilson’s Creek, Pea Ridge, Atlanta, Franklin, and Chickamauga, among others.

This exhibit will be on display at the museum throughout Arkansas’s Civil War Sesquicentennial. For further information contact:
