The Bill and Sharon Arnold Family Foundation is matching a grant from the Arkansas Department of Heritage for the Arkansas Civil War Sesquicentennial marker dedication in DeValls Bluff. The historical marker was created with the assistance of the Arkansas Civil War Sesquicentennial Commission and Preserve America, the National Park Service, and the Department of the Interior. The importance of the DeValls Bluff efforts during the Civil War and the Reconstruction Period are to be noted, along with the ceremonies being conducted by Mayor Brooks Castleberry, who will speak about the contributions of DeValls Bluff during and after the Civil War Era. In observance of the 150th anniversary of the war, an interpretive theme for each year between 2011 and 2015 has been developed by the Arkansas Civil War Sesquicentennial Commission. The dedication was held at Rhodes Park in DeValls Bluff Saturday, May 29, 2010 at 10 am.
