Sammy Rabbit brings his national Rock, Read, and Save for College tour to Little Rock Arkansas for five days beginning May 4th through 8th thanks to the Arkansas Jumpstart Coalition and the Bill and Sharon Arnold Foundation. The purpose of the Sammy tour is to promote financial education and energize elementary students to make habits of saving money and reading while encouraging them to further their education. “The program is unique and strategic,” said author, Sam X Renick, who accompanies his character Sammy Rabbit in the performances that include book readings, singing, skits, autographs, and pictures. “We integrate lessons on saving, setting goals, reading, writing, and leadership in an interactive, educational and entertaining manner.” The author and character have performed at over 1,000 schools and classrooms in 24 states and 5 countries during the last five years while executing their mission slogan: changing children and family lives one habit and dime at a time. “We actively look for new and innovative ways to bring financial literacy alive for students and families,” said Curtis Arnold, Arkansas Jumpstart Coalition president. “This is a critical point in our nation’s history and financial education is desperately needed. We want to support parents and educators and reach children while they are young, before they establish poor money habits. The Sammy Rabbit program is a perfect fit.” Performances are schedule for the following schools:
