The Choir, accompanied by members of The Arkansas Symphony Orchestra, will perform June 27, 2010 at 7:00pm at St. James United Methodist Church in Little Rock under the direction of worship pastor and conductor Eddie W. Airheart.

The Concert Repertoire will include, among others, works by Handel, Beethoven, Tchesnokov, John Rutter, Dan Goeller, Mack Wilberg, and Gilbert Martin . You won’t want to miss this extraordinary group!

The Celebration Singers of Central Arkansas will be returning from Washington, DC, having received their second YouthCUE, Inc. “Spirit of Cue Award”, an award which recognizes and honors the highest of excellence in both musical performance and ministry service. As two-time recipients of this prestigious international award for student choirs, The Celebration Singers were honored as the feature choir for the 2010 Nation's Capital Festival of Youth Choirs. The Festival and Concert, the largest of its kind nationwide, was held at The Washington, DC National Cathedral and accompanied by members of The National Symphony Orchestra. The 2010 Celebration Singers of Central Arkansas, 60 voices strong, joined with 250 additional middle and high school students from choirs across the United States. As the “Spirit of Cue” featured choir, the Singers not only participated in the entire Festival but also presented and recorded a concert of its own, the CD of which will be released later this year.

"To receive this recognition and honor has truly been both humbling and exciting for our students, and to be able to work hard, prepare and give back to the ministry of YouthCUE in such an amazing way has been one of the greatest blessings and privileges of which God has allowed us to be a part” says Eddie Airheart, director of The Celebration Singers of Central Arkansas.

The return-home concert will be funded in part by The Bill and Sharon Arnold Family Foundation. For more information about The Celebration Singers of Central Arkansas Student Choir or the concert, please call 501-835-0860 or visit www.cbf.us/CelebrationSingers/.
