Jessica Caldwell, 17, of Roe, Ark., was recently selected to receive a Bill and Sharon Arnold Family Educational Foundation Scholarship and a Founder’s Scholar Scholarship from Ouachita Baptist University. The Arnold Family Educational Foundation Scholarship was established to honor the legacy of Bill and Sharon Arnold and their generous contributions to education. Scholarships are awarded to up to two students from Hazen, DeValls Bluff or surrounding areas. The Ouachita Scholars program seeks to award incoming students who demonstrate outstanding academic performance. The scholarship is renewable for four years and is awarded based on a high level of academic achievement and standardized tests scores. Caldwell is a home school student and is the daughter of Kim Caldwell of Roe and Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Caldwell of Dumas. Ouachita Baptist University is a private, Christian liberal arts university whose aims are to meet the educational needs of students and to prepare them for places of leadership and service. Located in Arkadelphia, Ark., Ouachita offers more than 60 programs of study, with a 12:1 student to faculty ratio.
